I firmly believe in the importance of giving parents, teachers, and staff a voice in shaping the future of our Chesapeake Public Schools. Through active listening, transparent communication, and resourceful advocacy, I am committed to ensuring the welfare and success of every member of our educational community.

My dedication to this cause is both professional and deeply personal. As a father of two: one graduate of CPS and one current student within CPS, I understand firsthand the hopes, concerns, and aspirations that parents hold for their children’s education. Their educational journey is not just my priority; it is my motivation to stand firm in advocating for the values and policies that will shape the future leaders of our community.

School safety is not just a priority; it’s a non-negotiable necessity. As a parent and a member of this community, I understand the profound responsibility we bear in ensuring the safety and well-being of our students and a strong advocate for our School Safety Alliance. Every child deserves to learn in an environment free from fear and violence, where they can focus on their education and personal growth.

I am unwavering in my commitment to prioritize education without indoctrination. I firmly believe that politics has no place in our schools. We’ve witnessed how political influences can create a dysfunctional learning environment, and I am determined to keep our schools focused on education, free from divisive ideologies that breed dissension and deprivation. I am dedicated to finding solutions that foster unity and growth.

Not every student’s path leads to college, and that’s perfectly okay. I believe it’s essential for our educational system to recognize and support diverse career paths that extend beyond traditional higher education. Learning a trade can be an invaluable pathway to a successful and fulfilling career.

As a member of the school board, I am committed to expanding opportunities within our Chesapeake Career Center for vocational and technical education, providing students with the skills and training they need to thrive in various industries.

Accountability is a cornerstone of a thriving educational environment. When students understand the consequences of their actions, it not only promotes responsible behavior but also fosters a sense of respect and consideration for others. Any disruption in the classroom can significantly impact the learning experience of fellow students, making it essential for us to address and deter such behaviors effectively.

We have an obligation to recognize and address the effects of behavior and mental health on our students’ overall well-being. Enhancing access to counseling services, support programs, and resources, we can help students navigate challenges, develop resilience, and thrive academically and personally.

Throughout my career, my passion for service and education has been a driving force. Now, I am eager to channel that dedication into making a positive impact on our local school system. I stand for a community where every student thrives, every parent has a voice, and every staff member is valued.
